My Deluxe Experience is a truly custom process from beginning to end. It is perfect for those who want and demand a high level of service and quality.
When you call me to inquire about a session you will always hear this question:
HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO DISPLAY YOUR IMAGES?
Why do I ask this? Because I can't plan a great session for you unless I know what you want in the end. And how do I do that? With Four simple steps that guide you the entire way. These steps guarantee that you end up with exactly with what you desire when we are done. The Consultation, Session, Selection Appointment and Delivery are the four steps.
THE CONSULTATION: Great portrait sessions do not happen by accident. They need to be thought out and well planned. At the consultation we find out what your goals are for the session. What images are most important to you, what time of year and what look you would like for your portraits. Then we will move onto what you want to do with your images.
Most people ask about digital images when they inquire. But we have found that a majority of my clients don't do anything with those images past sharing them on social media. Your family is beautiful, awesome and deserve to be admired in your home. They are your greatest joy and masterpiece. Their images shouldn't be hidden on a hard drive or USB drive in the back of a drawer.
During our consultation process we break down exactly how you want to display the images of your biggest loves. Is it Custom Wall Art, a Beautiful Album, A folio box or framed prints. The options are as varied and unique as you are.

THE SESSION: At the session we put all our planning into action and create beautiful images of your family.
Newborn sessions take place in my Vienna, VA studio located within 2 miles of the Whiele Avenue Metro Station.
Family sessions take place at a location of your choosing. The session will be relaxed and fun. There might be some candy involved too. I will work quickly and carefully making sure that we capture all the images you want.
THE SELECTION AND ORDERING APPOINTMENT: This is the fun part! This is where you get to see exactly what we planned come to life. Images will displayed on my 70 inch TV larger than life in beautiful color. We will sit and view your images, review display options, design albums, talk about cards or announcements and bring your plan to life. This is where we design the one of a kind, custom items that you will display in your home and enjoy for years. Be sure to bring anyone who has any input on this part of the process, especially that reluctant spouse. They probably want to have a say in the images you display in your home.
DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION: Approximately 4 weeks after your Selection and Ordering Appointment I will set up a time with you to deliver your portraits. I can deliver them at a time and location that is convenient for you. (I have met many people at their place of employment because that is just sometimes easier) And don't worry, if you need help with installation, I can help with that as well.

Sometimes you just need something simple. A Deluxe Session looks great but that is more than you need right now. That is where the Petite Session comes in.
Petite Sessions are shorter versions of Deluxe Sessions resulting in 12 beautiful images. They are delivered printed, matted and in digital form in a jewel encrusted USB drive.
Petite Session Details:
The Petite Session is $1300. Half due at booking and Half due by the date of the session.

Petite Sessions are not available for Cake Smash Sessions or Extended Family sessions that include more than 6 family members.
I know how this works. I know that you took a look at my images, thought they were nice and now you want to know how much all this costs. I find that this investment page is the most visited page on my site, and for good reason. Cost is the number #1 determining factor that people look at when choosing a photographer. As an artist I wish it wasn't so but the reality is that people ask what things cost more often than any other question.
The hard part of all of this is what I can't just put on a price sheet that shows you why hiring me is different. I can't show you how beautiful your images will be in person, you can't feel the texture of the prints, hear the crack of the albums as you open them, and see the true beauty of what I offer.
I can't communicate how great you will feel seeing your images up on the big screen for the first time. How you will fall in love with your family all over again, how you might just shed a tear at how excited you will be to display these things in your home. I can't tell you that you will give me a hug in gratitude when you receive your new custom-made, professionally designed and created album because you know that this will be a part of your family legacy for generations. How do I effectively communicate that to you? That is that hard part.

All Session retainers are $300 no matter if it is a newborn, cake smash, headshot or family session.
Prints start at $150 for 8x10 and under
Wall art starts at $350 for 16x20 and up for Canvas Wall Art and Stand Alone Prints
Acrylic Wall art starts at $550 for 16x20 and up
Albums start at $800 for an 8x8, 20 page, fabric covered album
Dorie Howell Photography wants all clients to leave the studio with all of their images. Full resolution digital negatives are available as an add-on to a product purchase and are priced on a sliding scale. Your custom package purchase that includes wall-art, album or folio box purchases determines the price of your digital negatives.
